Forecasts that actually move.

Most weather apps render a single static radar frame, then jump to the next. WeatherScope's patent-pending pipeline interpolates between frames so storms move continuously across the map — the way they actually move in the sky. Combined with intelligent alerts that learn what conditions matter to you, you'll see weather coming before it arrives.

  • Patent-pending smooth-animation radar playback
  • Personalized intelligent alerts (storms, temperature drops, wind shifts)
  • Severe weather warnings with lead time
  • Hourly and 10-day forecasts with high-resolution detail
  • Cited, source-tagged weather data — not aggregated guesses
  • Multi-location tracking with one-tap switching

The only live radar on your wrist.

Other weather apps put a sun icon and a number on the Apple Watch. WeatherScope renders an actual NEXRAD radar map — animated, full-color, with your location pinned — natively on the watch. Add a complication to any watch face, get severe-weather alerts the moment they arrive, and check conditions without reaching for your phone.

  • Native live radar map on Apple Watch — no other weather app has this
  • Current conditions and hourly forecast on your wrist
  • Complications for every watch face style
  • Alerts delivered directly to the watch
  • Quick-glance one-tap interaction
  • Works independently of your phone when paired with cellular

Frequently asked questions

Is WeatherScope really free?
The free tier is ad-supported and has no time limit — you get the full radar, forecast, and alerts experience with ads. WeatherScope Premium removes ads and unlocks additional features via a subscription, with a free trial available in-app — no credit card required to start.
How is the radar “patent-pending”?
Our smooth-animation rendering pipeline interpolates between NEXRAD radar frames in a way no other consumer weather app does. The technique is the subject of a pending patent and is why WeatherScope’s radar playback looks fluid where competitors stutter.
What makes the Apple Watch experience different?
WeatherScope is the only weather app with native live radar imagery on Apple Watch. Other apps show static icons or text — we render an actual radar map on the wrist, with complications for watch faces and alerts delivered directly to the watch.
Does WeatherScope work outside the US?
Yes. Current conditions and forecasts are global. Live radar imagery is most detailed across the United States via NEXRAD; international coverage uses global radar mosaics.
Was WeatherScope really featured in the Wall Street Journal?
Yes. WeatherScope was featured in Nicole Nguyen’s December 1, 2024 column, “Why Can’t the Weather Apps on Our Phones Get It Right?” in The Wall Street Journal.
How is WeatherScope different from Vortix?
WeatherScope is built for everyday users who want trustworthy forecasts and beautiful live radar. Vortix is the pro-grade companion with 17 forecast overlays, hurricane tracking, and aviation-grade airspace data. Both are free; pick whichever fits how you use the weather.
